did you miss me?

finish2

determined not to re-surface until i finished the yardage.finished it is and washed and ironed.i could have woven 50 cms more, but it was getting difficult with all the tension problems created by the infamous slubs.and life's too short. but then again, no pain no gain so after all i'm pleased with the outcome.pretty crepe!
this week will be cutting and sewing week, the pattern's almost finished.
but an empty loom highlights the  resident chaos in the studio, therefore the new warp is going up.

dawarp

the sakura dyed organzine! my hopes are high, no slubs to fight with. organzine is smooth and tightly spun.bliss factor?
speaking of bliss factor this nytimes article will either scare the dickens out of you or will make you change your eating habits. one thing i can grant; you won't remain aloof.

it's been snowing during the weekend in the hills surrounding the city. and it's cold! around 2-3º C. i know, i know, this is nothing for you people who live up north. but remember, this is the med.

been spending time learning the ropes of a wonderful java applet. your pattern wishes can come true, provided you go through the learning curve without skipping any step in the tutorial. difficult for me because when i see numbers i get bored and switch off. but as the saying goes no pain, no gain.
a link to the applet can be found here http://mysite.verizon.net/jeremy_erwin/ .
it comes with pdf instructions and a tutorial.
another excellent find was this 50's pattern drafting book provided by the perfect nose. there's a link for downloading it after the review.
the weaving yardage is on its last stretch, that infamous las meter which seems to stretch endlessly.

and in case you're wondering what the photo has to do with the post; nothing. but don't tell me it's not a cool photo.

chutzpah, verve and other ve ending words

2possibles

been working on designs for  the yellow warp although i still have around 1 mt of the ai kakishibu warp to go . taking it slowly because of tension problems. those slubs! i have no problems talking about my  weaving issues, yet it seems i'm the only one who experiences them. am i the only village fool?- this is a rethorical question, no need to answer ^_^
so far these two seem to have the numbers.i want a statement skirt for a change. been too subdued for too long. it's a twill for a nice drape, the pattern however won't be that bold, at 24 ends x cm. it shrinks considerably.
the yellows are the cherry bark dyed silk organzine.
i hear spring is knocking at my doors.
