future promise

these jalapeños will find their way into yuzu kosho in october. as i am spoiled now bcse i have access to locally grown yuzu i am making all kinds of recipes using it.
the jalapeño plant has been overwintered for 2 years and still gives pepers. i can't get the japanese sansho peppers but my japanese cooking guru says jalapeños are a good substitute.

more japanophilia. found shiso plants.
considering making furikake this year. maybe yuzu furikake? <( ̄︶ ̄)>

new acquisition

always resisted atropurpureum  japanes maples but this one caught me as a good candidate for bonsai.
not really bonsai but pot confined so that it doesn't develop and grow. keeping an eye on a local green normal one for seeds. the ones i bought from kyoto sprouted and made me happy, but then shriveled and made me sad.

these are doing well although not too many flowers.maybe it's been too wet.
getting the hang of not having to wake up at the crack of dawn for tai chi.relaxing is an understatement.will keep on training as i did last year provided it stops raining.walking and weight lifting are outdoor activities. ⋋__⋌
