the series i have been working on since i returned from japan. all that red and those stones found their way into weaving. the beginnings are here ,where i explain the process, and here.
i beg your forgiveness for the quality of the photos. it proved to be a greater challenge than expected and this is the best i could do (´_`)

What an inspired and inspiring series! I really love the depth of color in these pieces, and how the twill lines pop.
ReplyDeletethank you margery.
DeleteI think you've come up with a really interesting series, Neki! Forgive my inability to explain my feelings clearly but they're kind of oppositional: funky/beautiful, old/new, rusty/earthy, fragmented/whole. In other words, I like 'em a lot!
ReplyDeletethis is a beautiful series, its intriguing the way the stone patterns begin to suggest landscapes to me. I'm curious how large are they?
ReplyDeletethanks for your comment. the pieces are small, no larger that 20 cms. the larger one about 30 cms long
DeleteLooking at these pieces again (because they are so compelling), I almost see small gatherings of people having conversations.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading about your process. The pieces are very appealing, closely related but each one with its own personality.
ReplyDeletethese are just so fine, neki, i really like them.
ReplyDeleteThe coloration and patterning in this series is very moving and beautiful.
