240 threads already threaded and an origami package.

origami scissors

and taking a break. there are some things here that i wish they never change. went to the cutlery sharpening shop to get my scissors back. yes, places like that still exist.but not only do they exist, take a look at the wrapping. fancy origami using an old newspaper page the way it always has been done.
they are so quaint they are hip, now that everyone's recycling and re-purposing.

I love the folded paper and I'm so glad you've celebrated it on your blog! I like the local bakery where they still wrap the bread in paper, fold it just so and tuck the ends underneath the loaf. I'm sure it tastes better.

  2. I'm really glad you preserved this old custom with your photo. It IS very special. And as Cally said...something to celebrate.

  3. See, I knew you could do it. If you have a good scissors sharpener, cherish them for dear life! Difficult to find a good sharpener, somebody who really understands tailoring shears.

I find myself lamenting the "good old days" more often than I like! almost too nice to unwrap.
