too hot amigos

this morning at 8:30 when i left for my walk it was already 26ºc. we're suffering a mass of hot air from the sahara which translates to a heat wave during the whole week.
no energy to move very much, so the main activity will be cutting and pressing the sewing machine pedal. the good news is that by the end of the heat wave i'll have a full new wardrobe.

may i ask why?

full needle rib hates me? two full days at it and this is the only sample worth calling itself that.
however: the stitches are wonky, i had to loosen the tension a lot because the carriage was very heavy to  operate. one needs full needle rib to do pin stripe ribbing, but if the tension is loose the ribbing effect gets lost; i bet you can't see those 3 rows.SIGH!
will keep at it until i get it. this %º** stitch is not going to bend me.

comfortably ribbing during sommerfest

happy solstice you sun children! our big day night will be on the 23rd with enough dancing and drinking and fireworks to need a holiday the day after.

spent time getting to know the monster and testing different yarns.basically the silk bourrette and cotton i'll be using a lot.i am quite pleased because the beast needs to be fed thin yarns and i can use my stash.

fisherman's rib on cotton and silk bourrette
english rib, which is a variation
of fisherman's or vice versa, on silk

full needle rib.tricky! one has to pay extra attention to remember and swing the ribber or the needles in both beds will collide resulting in bent/broken needles.

i  feel confident enough to start playing this week. anxious to test dropping stitches  and making holey distressed samples.
