the postman loves me-again!

look at these beautiful vintage silk threads i got from blandina. think i'll put them in a glass urn and just look at them, too scared to use them ಠ-ಠ
turning a page. this weekend and until tuesday is  barcelona's patron saint feast  the virgin of la mercè.
there are many fun and game activities, music and theater all over town. however, one of the highlights for me is the wine sampling festival. less known wine producers take the opportunity to introduce their wines so you can find real gems and expand your repertoire of favorites.
it is also the official closing of  summer ending in a mega fireworks display.
adieu, until next year.

fine tuning

the color got shifted, as it was too yellow-orange, towards the burgundy to echo the yarn wisps.
the black form was too dominant and distracting. it got downsized -being tyvek it  meant a hot iron-
and the color got turned down with a gold colored glaze. you can see it glowing in the center and it works well as a  focal point.still contemplating whether to do away with the top and bottom portions of lutradur. comments welcomed!
it's all coming together as a single narrative.

the beading.
beading on a very open knit is akin to having soup with a fork.

quite entertaining!

still knits, but a change of pace

this is a work in progress. it was an ufo, but deanna's yarns got me itchy to get the needles out again.
processed linen knitting sample with paints. auditioning backgrounds.

trying to compensate the horizontals with the vertically cascading wisps .having thoughts about the backgrounds.there's going to be some beading too.
oh well, this is why it's a wip.

i'll be dancing in the street

the blocking board.i could find out the reason behind the big THUD and carry on.it was the cotton yarn i was using as the scrap yarn beginning. cotton is not as elastic as wool and as soon as i changed to wool after a couple of passes THUD! fell to the ground. went for broke and used the merino as a luxury scrap yarn and the thud stopped.

this is the 2 color pattern. since becoming a color changer master ;) i can only think of colored mazes. this was an easy knit.so easy i started wondering if i should punch a card and add a complementary border.

so i did.
i like the way the rounded shapes complement the angularity of the main pattern.

trust me they are the same color combination, it's the angle of the photo that changes  the colors.
they are closer to the first photo, less blue.
this week i'll be sewing the skirt and holding my breath. and then... dancing, dancing in the street, yeah!

the post man loves me-again! hey t.j i know where to get you now   ( ^_^ )
thanks a bunch. i even have some fabric for the vintage pattern.it's an easy grade with princess seams as you suggested.
i'm  also thinking about who to twist an arm to convert the foreground pattern to a knitting one.
it would make a fab cardi narrowing the sleeves a tad.
