this is a photo of a catalan mas the traditional farmhouse in catalunya. solid, attached to the land and isolated. sometimes when the going gets rough one has to find those, although acquired, roots.
took a mini break to tour the penedes wine country,where the harvest is about to begin because of the weather conditions.
the colors, the beauty of the landscape, the special character of wine people was a much needed relief from an endlessly long  hot summer in the city.
i also met a friend who had not seen in quite a while. lots of catching up.come to think of it for the past two weeks i've been in catch up mode with friends!

the beginnings, two dips

 the skeins are ok, it's me who's frying. have been reading bryan san's posts and to my delight they have corroborated what  i  intuitively did. don't want to sound like a lot of these people in the lists, or in life, that in answering questions they inevitably end up talking about themselves and you get no answer. therefore head there and read his post.

after a month of uv rays the color has perceptively changed.










on to other things: this blog will be in hiatus mode until it cools a bit, i finish wrestling with plan c and take a short but much needed break.

on their way to applesauce. with a knob of butter, lemon rind and real cinnamon stick from india. comfort food.  can't live without my apple corer.
plan b ditched, too hot and too little time  to deal with problems. plan c on its way, a more manageable cotton warp.

ponderings on the closing ceremony:

• semiotics please comment.there was much more going on than a  celebration of the history of pop music and culture.
• old rockers die hard.
•  just liam gallagher, no noel.
• we will rock you and then the required parliaments by the authorities.
• talking' bout my generation introduced the brief firework display that signaled the end.
