blanket among the plants

happy may day y'all.

warp up and kicking. making a color blanket and looking at how the print will look. used a stencil i had bought in japan  as a tryout as i haven't had time to cut my own. the warp is silk dyed with carrot tops eucaliptus and madder. the weft is going to be periwinkle cashmere. have just 50 grs. and hoping i have enough for the scarf.

too busy planting my urban veg. garden. already have rucula and 2 kinds of lettuce.the rucula from seed, lettuce were starters.eggplant seeds sprouted and looking good.
the weather has been cooperating thank goodness.

my take

for what is worth.don't have a warping wheel and don't have space for one.the tension box doesn't go with the louet set up and would have to hack it.
front of the loom : a chain weighted  with a knitting machine weight.










cross coming from the raddle. comb from tension box clamped to the back of the loom

from the comb to the section on the beam.easy peasy. altogether  solved the issue of twisting chains.
