And a good south wind sprung up behind;
The Albatross did follow,
And every day, for food or play,
Came to the mariner's hollo! *
after 6 months agonizing this albatross is off my neck and i can get on with life.whomever said that you'll get rid of insecurities the more into your work you are is a
LIAR.
Ah! well a-day! what evil looks
Had I from old and young!
Instead of the cross, the Albatross
About my neck was hung.*
those of you who visit here remember
this and the often mentioned plan A. so this is it .
some details:
it was all about working against clock to complete the entry for lodz and self doubts.i cannot thank enough my friends for their support when i was turning into jello.
i felt this invite was somewhat like those honorary oscars for lifetime achievement therefore i wanted to include a compedium of what my work is; i'm a weaver a dyer and i also stitch although i'm not a stitcher per se.
the weavings are small 20cms linen and silk weaves using lampas structure, brocading stamping and surface design. they are stitched to commercial linen that was painted using earth and ai pigments then hand and machine stitched. the concept behind is landscape within landscape within landscape from the interior to the external.
and those interested please note that the italics come from
coleridge's rhyme of the ancient mariner
a favorite of mine recently revisited. but i digress so that will make another post.
