i'ts not that it ever worked with my regular thin silk yarns. the fishline counter i mean.but it finally collapsed into a heap of plastic and metal knobs. as a result i'm winging the skeins that will be dyed and warped. the good news is that i'm not scouring so less opportunity for the hated tangles. color yet to be decided. however,l the food grade tannin has all the jackpot numbers. no scouring,no mordanting less chances for evil tangles to happen.i'd pay the japanese dyers for a class on how they dye tangle free.
skein on top.yarns are wool and stainless steel
bought in avril on my 2014 trip to japan.
avril is now sadly defunct so these can qualify
as collector's items. need to decide which one will be weft. depends on the outcome of the tannin dyed warp.
looking forward to a textured collapse weave.
i've always wondered why the japanese don't use sectional warping with such fine yarns.never came up with an answer. if you know please comment.
on another note i discovered the renshuu app for studying japanese.totally addictive, been studying kanji every day. it is well paced, everything is excellently explained and the reward systems are extremely engaging as well as fun.
