benibana explorations

new benibana bought last year locally ( sort of) using 50 gr as control against 100gr of ancient, vintage benibana bought on my first trip to japan.notice the yellow in the petals. after the rinses the petals are totally red.

extracting the yellow, second day.

 the old benibana after numerous rinsings was left

for 3 days in water, theat water was densley colored

and also discarded.( have a feeling i should have processed it) we'll see.

preparing the silk skeins to be dyed.more during this week.
