to turn or not to turn

original draft, never mind the colors

turned version, ditto for colors

cloth for sewing makes more sense. hoping to get enough fabric for the collared version. if not going along with the second version.

If you turn it, it'll be a 2-shuttle weave, which takes a while with yardage...

The turned one works visually. Maybe you could get the same effect by elongating the threading & compressing the treadling, and keep it as a one-shuttle weave.
