usually here leaves fry before having the chance to turn, but this year oh boy!

those bitter cold weeks in november have given us a fall we had yet to see. and of course here at sea level when it does, it arrives as late as december when the countryside's already bare.
paraphrasing the little prince: one needs to endure the caterpillars in order to enjoy butterflies.
