concept

been working with my new best friend, the lace carriage.knitting lace is at the least, tricky.one  is never sure how much weight is too much.one also needs to learn how to read the lace punchcard correctly; if concentration fails, one can lose track and run the carriage in the wrong direction.this is very very bad 😏and can cause havoc.
if all is in sync it's joy seeing how those little holes form and multiply.
two samples: on the left cotton yarn painted with acrylics, on the right copper wire aged with patina.
see where i'm going?

behaving

the new to me lace carriage with all its natural quirkinesess is behaving ok. lace needs lots of weights and that is an understatement.the carriage needs to be moved at a fast pace or else needles get stuck while doing the transfers. it also needs to be pressed down slightly. all of this counting that the sponge bar is pristine.
it takes patience and skill.but then again sennet says it takes 100hrs to become aquainted with a skill.
