irony of ironies

 while away a heat wave hit asturias, no rain, no fog just  plain absurd heat. as a result my plants fried. lost the rucula and the rest were caught in extreme unction.






 they have been under tlc since my return.
we shall see if i can make salads this summer

3 weeks awol

 a trip to Barcelona which has turned into bedlam.great city to visit as a tourist and then go back home. terrible if you have lived there bcse you see the ravages caused by tourism.left with a bleeding heart and a sense of relief. in between the noise of the local elections, a month after the national ones. the sound and the fury.
5 days home and on to madrid for 3 days to see the luis gordillo exhibit




and the fra angelico at the prado.took advantage of the visit to revisit some goyas.
goya always leaves me in awe, such a modern painter!

some marathonian just wandering walks and a good indian restaurant.

now back to work.

yet some more sewing

scads of  short narrow handwoven fabrics which cannot make a whole garment.what to do,what to make? found some narrow linen that i had bought in nara which could be pared with the silks ,but had no further idea.so grateful for pinterest. thanks to it will be drafting a pattern for a pieced top.

here's yet another one  this time re purposed linen from a much loved  dress. the skirt was box pleats so i'll have enough for something else.let's see what i find in pinterest   <(￣︶￣)>
