keep going the mad hatter said

or maybe he didn't, but sounds adequate.all wire knits have been treated to develop patina.
this one has an extra step:stenciled puff paint colored with acrylic paint. and from here who knows.

this?a cotton wire collage?

or a wire on wire?
there's going to be some stitching for sure.

about patinas

part of the fun is transforming the knit into something totally unsuspected using patinas.
there are solutions made by modern masters pricey, but works well.
if in a rush  you can also use miracle gro fertilizer mixed with water which i would guess is more readily available.haven't tried it,but according to my research it says it works.

this sample is cotton with an identity crisis
trying to be copper(^▽^)
applied some copper paint to it and then the patina solution. let's see where this goes.

the season's over

people are back to work and i too.have retaken up wire knitting with much more confidence. i know my machine better and the wires too. the best wire i found to knit  was a gauge 28-30 which knits like thread.desperately googling to see where i can get more.

this one is a bit thicker, but knitable.it's a leftover from the ones you could find at a brilliant long gone bead place in barcelona. there's a tourist shop there now.sigh.
