seriously going for broke

these are the colored inksticks i brought back from japan last year.i bought the three traditional colors i found but was missing beni as the store didn't have it. the longing was settled in. fast forward and now as i am taking sumi-e classes i convinced myself that it was ok to source it from japan. and as the shipping was going to be the same whether i bought one or five.....

the people that i know who went to japan last year were not too enthusiastic about bringing the beni stick back. and mind you i was going to have it delivered at their hotel  ¯\ ( ツ ) /¯ .

 i flip out when i read of people doing a crowdfunding bcse they want to go to japan and the reason behind is bcse they are wonderful people.  i have to depend on  the wherewithal to go there.

maybe i'm cultivating excellent karma.

as we all know

drills are effective learning strategies whether in movements, languages or whatever. richard sennet in his  book the craftsman states that one needs to repeat a movement one hundred times in order to create muscle memory.

our sensei in barcelona drilled us to death and as a result we walked out of that classroom being able to talk and knowing a lot of kangies. we did mina no nihongo first book which is equivalent to n5 and n4.

after that the rest of the teachers did not use drills and whatever was learned was forgotten. ⋋__⋌.

now i'm getting ready for sensei's maternity leave with this little book. this and the renshuu app will get me three months of fruitful self study. (￣ω￣ )
