surviving yet another heat wave with iced matcha fizz. the north has had temps in the mid 30s, beyond unbearable.

ive been  exhausted lying around not moving and bingeing on j dramas.getting on the vertical means dizziness.one more day and temps will go back to normal with rain on the map.those poor fields and meadows are totally fried.

life's truisms

one of life's truisms is that you get what you pay for. top bag is wha'ts left of the benibana purchased here. it was more than moderate in terms of price. bottom was bought from germany. deadly expensive  and on top of that i went all the way and bought a whole kilo. notice the difference in color, the bottom one's yellower a fact that made me rather uneasy imagining the yellow wash off.

but contrary to expectations there wasn't that much  more yellow in the petals and the wash off was shorter in terms of time spent.

now notice the color bath ; the one on the right 

is the locally sourced fist dye bath, the origin of the petals is unknown

on the left the german already used and on its second dye, petals from anatolia.

will show the outcome when the fabric is dry.

finally here.

it took 3 weeks for the whole thing to get processed and arrive here. pretty incredible as the germans pride themselves on being efficient compared to southern europe whom they glance over the shoulder. i bought stuff  from a french company last year and they were really up to par. live and learn.

bought weld,alkanet, potash alum -KAL(SO4) and tragacanth.tragacanth is deadly expensive when found ,there's no choice but pay.

i should not complain as ever since the brexit i am scouting and sourcing materials from within europe and luckily i have all my needs covered.  m(_ _)m
