knitting my obsessions away

crosswalks, especially the shibuya crossing( what else) with all the ambiguity it provokes.
the pandemic left me with a sense of not having much/anything to say so i was doing a lot of utilitarian work, sewing, knitting tops and sweaters ,lots of house cleaning.
slowly reformatting my thoughts and pent up feelings bcse the importance laid in survival.

the first opera i attended  in a year and a half was nabucco it really put feelings out there. firstly, and i could have been me,  the reading was less political ( it was in verdi's time) and more covid ,with the choir wearing masks  and the costumes 1960's everyday people. teachers shopkeepers and many waiters. the va il pensiero scene was incredibly powerful breaking the 4th wall and becoming the audience that without leaving the stage.kudos to the stage director. it was  a collective catharsis .

the digression comes becuse week after the performance i began working agin.

double bed jaquard, this one there's a mistake in the color sequence so it changed the strioes which were supposed to be grey. dont mind it too much, as this works deal with ambiguity. but i'll knit it again the way it's supposed to be.

getting audacious

gaining confidence designing with the infamous DAK in combination with garment designer.
blocky shapes are no brainers and extremely forgiving. the back hem is slightly longer, the front neckline is a bias line  that curls a bit.i am also learning how to perfect the curling effect.
the white linen on the back knitted slightly biased ,have to see if steam pressing corrects it.

the back neckline is straight and about 10 cms tall
which gives a nice curl.
next try is going to be both front and back necklines curling down.
need to decrease 2 stitches on both sides from the center to avoid the cowl frown on the front and back pieces below the curl.

september marks the beginning of the opera season.
last year due to covid (like nesspresso: what else?) albeit the great program i was hesitant about attending. this season i already have tickets to nabucco  next week and boheme in november.
i love the opera and most of all i ♥ disguising myself  full drag in opera regalia \(*▽*)/
