which you become aware in machine knitting. that of waste yarn. you cast on on waste yarn, cast off on waste yarn and you also waste a lot of yarn sampling, undoing and all the rest.it ends on the floor because most likely it's not reusable for other casts. sounds like a bad broadway play.

casting off on waste yarn. learning the hard way that the yarn has to be as similar in grist as the main yarn.

if not it becomes hellish when you fold it to pick up the stitches and join pieces on the machine.

the frugal weaver saves thrums to be used as markers so she atones for all the waste yarn,

in all fairness

i need to record the failures as well. life is not what happens in instagram where everything is cool, pretty and successful. for me weaving is about process and knitting is about product. no sloppy product will dishonor an honest  craftsperson.

starting the infamous silk cardi again. wrong measurements led to only half sleeves.

sleeve measurements need to be x2  DUH! and since i was doing the sleeves again why not do all as the collar  came out not too sharp.

tiny movements that make the difference between 

 a stitch becoming a ladder or being easily transferred. honing the craft.
