learning opportunities everywhere

if there is to be ( is this english?) something positive about covid times is the learning opportunities available. i have taken home study of various topics including japanese.

this one is translating this hand knitting book into machine knitting via susanna lewis book. 

if there's a k machine bible that's the one. 

 and ive finally realizes that if i want to progress in the craft i need to take the lewis book and knit all the samples she proposes.

i'll hopefully end with a sound knowledge of k knitting as well as ribber operations.

lordy,lordy i need lots of chamomile tea.

more samples

refraining from my natural tendency of the full sample club aka finished pieces, i've started a honeycomb sample club with only one member, same member of the ganbaru club💪.

this one is 2/20 cotton.

the next will be cotton and merino to see the differential shrinkage.

these are 60 stitches wide and quite easily accomplished. something to keep in mind when one just wants learning with fun and games.

mattress stitch torment

fighting boredom. why are finishes so boring? same thing with hems. but they have to be as close to perfect as one can produce, because sloppy finishes give handmade a bad rep.

this one is torqueing ,wonder why, so it will hang for a couple of days and get re stitched again.(╯︵╰,)

but all in all i am gaining confidence making this sweater and will be repeated until perfection.

it was a year ago that i bought DAK and still have just scratched the surface.

 

i've been entertaining myself so as not to die of boredom with various things; unproductive such as finding  japanese line stickers and transferring them to WhatsApp and telegram via some entailing apps.

some gardening also. anything to keep me from mattress stitching, really.
