freedom to do

finished japanese till next year. this year has been tough ,i was not depending on what ryo sensei taught me, so all was new, not much oral practice and lots of difficult grammar. classes are very much grammar oriented here no pera pera 😞

the good news was that during those two weeks of solid studying the loom was acting up.
had refurbished the stretched cords and it stopped working.usually with electronics it's that  cables that aren't properly plugged. not here as the solenoids were firing, it was something that prevented the loom from talking to the computer.
now with time in my hands i checked everything i could think of and NADA.however in a moment of inspiration i checked the only thing i hadn't before unscrewing the loom box and fitting it again, something i avoid because it's terribly heavy and a very tight fit.
it was the magnet!! yes, had moved the magnet to avoid losing it and placed it on the lifting knife with the wrong pole as contacting pole.

long winding story to say back to weaving.

blanket among the plants

happy may day y'all.

warp up and kicking. making a color blanket and looking at how the print will look. used a stencil i had bought in japan  as a tryout as i haven't had time to cut my own. the warp is silk dyed with carrot tops eucaliptus and madder. the weft is going to be periwinkle cashmere. have just 50 grs. and hoping i have enough for the scarf.

too busy planting my urban veg. garden. already have rucula and 2 kinds of lettuce.the rucula from seed, lettuce were starters.eggplant seeds sprouted and looking good.
the weather has been cooperating thank goodness.
