of stubbornness and thriftiness

yup, still at it but with a difference.or two.this loom was hacked to include an under-slung beater to improve weaving conditions.however the front tie rod was loo long to pass the sides of the beater and had to be cut.then the warp was also cut because there was no point in keeping the aggravation going.
sized it with agar agar which was the handiest easiest thing i had .just boil water sprinkle a teaspoon and wait till is gels.

it has strengthened the yarns considerably
and i am assuming breakage  will be
 minimized.also assuming some of
the slack in some yarns will disappear
and the overall tension will improve.
let's see how much i can weave without
despairing. all because i hate to cut this
beautiful misbehaving linen, sigh.
btw i am sold on agar-agar.

thrilled

struggled a whole week, but i am thrilled with the result.sewing a light machine woven piece is a drive uphill but the view from the top of the hill is worth it.
want to perfect the technique as i have kilos of extremely fine cashmere merino yarns.
i still can wear that in the spring here  and on the more than often chilly summer nights. gone are the strappy linens and cottons in the summer, one needs some warmth over the shoulders.

no japanese class today i have extra gifted time.the joys of catholic countries, always an unexpected saint or virgin day😎
