getting closer to its destiny

at least the warp is on the loom. spent time yesterday toying with walls of troy. it has to meet more requirements than 3 end floats. it's a table loom ill be working on bcse of its  width so lifts have to be simple and easy. i also want progression from warp face to weft face and given that it will be a piece of clothing it needs to have drape, until i do't find the wow draft will keep doing time at fiberworks.

on the gardening scene can't be more thrilled.

my hakonenchloa
aka japanese grass ,which i bought from the nursery in france this winter,
is doing very well
actually i've watched it grow, love grassess bcse of that.

so are the hakone macra and the japanese blood grass. nothing like plenty of water and cool nights.the taller one is lemongrass finally summering outside.
plants do need cool nights to recoup from hot days or else they fry.like my plants in barcelona. today i also noticed that the clematis miss bateman that i had chopped because of some kind of wilt is coming back. still a hint surging from the soil, but hey i thought it was a goner.

closer to its destiny as well are my last-i think-two parcels from japan. the customs saga is over, now im holding my breath bcse i was told they would notify me how much i had to pay  ╯︵╰,
hope i knew in which one  of the boxes my old clothes and sneakers are bcse i could tell them to keep them.

and a final note : i was made aware that it was impossible to comment here ever since blogger did away with open IDs therefore i am allowing anonymous comments.so comment at will and don't forget to sign your name.

the best rinse

brook from neki rivera on Vimeo.

is an old fashioned brook and let the water flow. 5 minutes and no  more unfixed dye.forget washing machines, tubs and whatnots. plus the added fun! i put on my wellies so that i could do some splashing in the water. joys of semi country living.
some kids from the hood were watching puzzled, but were polite enough not to ask.

now drying.no bleeding! tomorrow beaming
and with luck start threading

of cloth

cotton double knit

four years ago  on my previous trip to japan  i discovered  many things one of them that the japanese have a powerful vibrant fabric industry. not only is their handmade cloth exeptional, but also their industrial woven cloth is beautiful, innovative and well designed.
this time i made a point of spending time in nippori in tokyo after visiting some stores in kyoto.

cotton double knit

linen knit
have never seen such a variety of great looking knitted fabric in all materials. went wild with the linen knits and bought about 3 and that was being very judicious.
the cottons are a bit heavy, great for jackets for the oviedo weather.
the linens, still waiting for two, will be floaty langelook dresess.                                               lots of sewing ahead, but waiting for the boxes with the patterns and  all the sewing (tools?) doohickeys i bought. another field day at
customs for the officials!
