dislexically yours

the frugal weaver had warped the long thrums with the knots towards the front and so it was no go.
but going she was to japan so this warp had to be taken care of after the return. here i am more than halfway.
this is going to be  a crepe fabric for one of these.
there's a very cool basketmaker in a nearby town whom i am sure can provide the bottom.

kakishibu again

dyeing with kakishibu again.  fearlessly using the powder i bought years ago because i got more in japan and it will eventually get here.used a ziplock bag as i did not want to dilute it excessively, using enough water to cover the yarn. even though it came out on the pale side.

the silk hank getting the uv treatment to modify
the color.will need some more dips.
note the new background. my former grungy sienna wall no more.

on another note today is field tuesday in asturias.
people go out to the countryside or a park in a sort of good weather at last celebration. there's special food ( chorizo stuffed buns) and wine or the first cider of the season and general jolliness.
good times.

some thoughts

and a sketch .

working on the next series trying to limit the
stamping/textures to squares avoiding the circle clichè .my problem is that if i sketch then it's already done the fun is already had and it stays there.it has to be a very rough sketch almost idiomatic.
the actual challenge is translating it into textiles.
