another adventure of the kamikaze weaver

yes, i've fooled you. i did not want to scare you from the beginning with the photo that illustrates this post so one above is a benign one. testing for errors, mistakes and the regular suspects. spraying the hemp every half an hour to keep it under control. so far so good. dying to start acting on the weaving stamping on it and doing things before the heat wave strikes from tomorrow on.

bad,bad news.

the kamikaze weaver took the hemp warp in her hands before it started giving problems- yes p-r-o-b-l-e-m-s  not issues, hate that euphemism, unbeamed it from the second warp beam and weighted and hung the bouts individually. short warps are forgiving forgiving.
the silk weft continues laying gracefully on her beam.

so far so good.famous last words??

threading done and i'm not made of the stuff numbers are made of

paraphrasing carl sagan i'm not made of numberstuff.all the counting adding multiplying and dividing and i ended up with 2 extra warp chains in each layer. dangling now from the back of the loom because i warped back to front.the good news is that i'll have  warp for samples for the double weave study group.

great weekend albeit the misnumber.
vero was visiting and we hit the fabric stores,

 had some laughs, some vermouth and food.

and  we also did lots of walking.

 

sunday after finishing the  threading was time for entertaining myself with my new tablet and some apps i downloaded. the hymenocalis are in bloom and i became david hockney for a few  minutes. ^_^

 now on to checking threading errors.
