second layer . did some stamping and started heavy stitching. as it turned out , except for some split, satin and running stitches the rest has worked out its own way as chain stitch and some of its variations.there's still a whole lot to do on the white areas.
last week was delivery week. first the brush and then some books i had ordered from amazon. among them
the bible by betty barnden
(-standard disclaimer-no pecuniary interest, just a happy buyer.)
i'm just a beginner in this league, but i can recommend it wholeheartedly. one can follow the very clear graphic instructions which are complemented by a written part.she also includes a manual of good practices as well as good references to threads, needles and appropriate fabrics.for more experienced stitchers it's a great reference book which also covers canvas stitches, pulled and counted threads stitches .
one thing i absolutely love is the way it's bound. spiral bound with a hard cover so that the pages don't suffer and keep attached to the spiral.
i plan to use it as my stitching pillow book.too bad this week is christmas cake turmoil and i won't have too much
free time.it's becoming a tradition for me to go to my friend's for making, baking and wining as in wine tasting (^_^). tipples anyone?
