nemesis

in case one is feeling full of oneself a session of gate peg bind off puts the universe in perspective.
(´_`)
after over the mythical 100 repeats i am feeling somewhat comfortable doing it. i also tried joining pieces on the machine and prefer it to mattress stitching them.
the cardi is going to wait for better days to be finished. the sleeves came out too narrow in the sleeve head so they dont fit well at the armhole. and this is a drop shoulder number.
some gain  some lose.
have the full dose ofπŸ’‰ so that's another gain.

a long awaited visit

bottom center there's a fence covered in purple.it is one of the most expected sights in the hood the way
the wisteria covers the whole fence and hangs from adjoining trees. it's almost a spring pilgrimage to see it.of course it was greatly missed last year due to  confinement. we  had to content ourselves looking at it from afar, like in the photo above.
just guessing and hoping

this year. the color, the scent, the mood. kimochi ζ°—ζŒγ‘γ‚ˆγ ❕
to add to the bliss i have cleared all the little bs that was blocking life.

towards simplicity and mono no aware

making warp chains of  hirakami textured silk also bought on my first trip to japan! have not been able to find it on successive trips. dyed in ai and carrot tops. want both looms warped.

carrot tops here

and  remedial dyeing with carrot tops

all these  silks speak for themselves in their beauty. no intricate patterns, no dazzling effects are needed.
just letting the materials speak .don't know if it's the effects of the confinement, the recent  loss of friends, age  or what, but i am aiming for simplicity now as an antidote for these times.mono no aware

getting into the new normality

don't know in which phase we are, but it looks and fells almost normal.with a mask that is.
spring is turning into summer with a languid slowness. everybody is on slow drive and that feels good.

btw. hate the new blogger interface.the dashboard is not easy to navigate  plus the look is extremely dated.thought i had fallen through a hole and  had landed in 1980

sleeping beauty

had this linen knit from my trip to japan 2 years ago.brought it out to contemplate it and get illumination on what to sew. a loose flowy number?a langelook baloonish or tulip shaped?

the fabric is sovery awesome that whatevet i make needs to be simple in order to showcase it.
while i am typing this i hear kids playing on the street.normality.seems that the worst is over.

outings in living colors

on saturday we were allowed to go out for one hour no farther than 1 km from your house.first time in 50 days!
i was shocked to see people and on the street.
from now on unless the numbers climb that's the craic.
the phot shows a salad in the near future, perhaps wednesday.
an last: AAARRRG blogger made another stupid makeover.where you find your views, stats and whatnots on your dashboard, but it's difficult to find the new post button/tab.πŸ‘½πŸ‘½
right, just what people need at this time.blogger and its  gift of aggravation.

first week of cofinement

down. however last night we were announced that instead of 15 days we're going to be in for 30.
sewing this top from a gorgeous linen recouped from a dress that doesn't fit anymore.the bliss of time.
already getting my japanese class homework and don't feel like doing it.
i am studying really hard watching all those doramas on netflix and rakuten.
seriously, with the dictionary app by my side pausing the vid and looking up the word that i do not understand.

apple trees in bloom from one of my windows.
distance makes the heart grow fonder.

resurfacing from the land of stress

preparing the entry to the Portugal exhibit proved more laborious than expected. it entailed updating my web page. that meant that regardless of the required 3 years work, which was already completed in its due time, photos had to be taken. this meant that the lightbox and lights had to be fetched and set up with another previous step that i won't bore you with.
photos then had to be post processed and uploaded.
it's common knowledge that once you touch something in a page it miraculously disjoints.so i was there looking for glitches that existed, but were very hard to see. artificial intelligence? HA!
i'ts dumb, dumb, dumb  and cannot think outside the box nor extrapolate ΰ²  ΰ²
the page's finally up the entry sent. now let's hope i pass the jury's cut.
can't post the submitted work, but please take a look at the past works.

new thoughts

short rows and monofilament practice. sample for some thoughts i have in mind.
amongst the news i noticed that blogger now includes my avatar when clicking the blog's name . cool as ego stoking, but i'd much have the comments issue fixed. for receiving and leaving comments on other platforms.
keeping with the news; the rains are visiting, looks like it's going to be a wet fall.there's also a chill in the air.
in love with tai chi and japanese clasess have not started yet.looks like sensei stayed in japan and they are looking for another sensei.😞😞

shibui

doing some shibui weaving. picked up this project again now that the lace knitting is on the way.
and before japanese clasess begin. maybe it's my way of getting into the mind frame. i wonder.
been also reading a lot of japanese lit, such a pleasure when a place i know or a train ride i've taken  is mentioned.

golly gosh mighty, just realized this is my post #2220 ΰ²  ΰ² . and blogger has been acting stupid with comments.
but thanks anyway.

haywire

knitting wire is not as easy as those vids show.wire is, well, wiry. no give, it's springy, tension can be problematic and the sponge bar has to be pristine or else it's a fup.

these are going to be patinaed  to work with these which have already undergone patina fever.

in the life in general dept started tai chi last wednesday. did some months of tai chi ages ago and it is interesting the way muscles seem to remember some movements.

it works

dream come true as envisioned. just had to buy the  trolley. wheel it out to the terrace and open the tap;dye liquid directly out and into the drain then hose the vat. dyeing has never been easier.
life is good.

there were fireworks last night, very enjoyable.did i say life was good?

this is like the ricky martin song

one step forward maria, one step back.
it's very slow weaving and i'm getting bored..272 passes=8 cms .sigh.
re-reading madame bovary is not helping much as it is a treatise on boredom as the cause of evils.
to add some spunk i took my beloved gac 900 and started painting parts of the warp. at least i have bright colors to look forward to.
have been doing some dyeing too and teaching a friend the basics.
not much else is new; there were some very splendid days to be enjoyed and the nights are still long and cool. love summers up north.

future possible

the green i had in the stash, the colored kid silk merino i saw in insta and could not resist its gorgeousness.
pricey so only three 50 gr skeins.need to plan carefully, but i am envisioning short rows creating 3 diagonals and then cut & sew cardi. we shall see as there's sewing to be done. not to mention a warp on the loom.
my excuse is that the left knee hasn't been cooperating lately.either i do the morning walk or i weave.(╯︵╰,)
