the 2/18 jaggerspun merino supplemental thread cuts it.and if i go on and felt it a bit more it will look even better. i do not mind if the floats show and they are not too long to catch.i'm using them as design elements, seriously

I'm ignorant where weaving is concerned but think the floats are the darker purple threads showing up so beautifully in the top picture so I say...Absolutely - they are design elements!
Good! I'm glad the heavier supplementary weft is working the way you want. It's always nice when the yarn cooperates!
