found and lost

Found this nifty little fractal generator program with really good animation applications.
Have been working with it and some cool things have come out. The problem is that the animations look good in the web browser and if I send them in an e- mail they come out fine.
But when uploaded to this blog they appear full of artifacts. Have changed all the settings in the animation and still..
Any ideas? Is there help out there somewhere?

Nihongo

Started Japanese lessons today. Ryo sensei is a good teacher, kept us busy and focused for an hour and a half non stop. We even practised writing the vowels in kana.
Some of the basic polite phrases I already knew, but nonetheless I feel as if my brain was put through a blender. Out of training snice I hadn't formally gone to classes for a long time.

back to the loom

Haven't sat at the loom for the whole summer.Too hot to weave + the web page. I really missed it.
Most of the creative work during the summer has been computer generated. This is one of the
images I generated for the Canterbury Festival @ Sandra Pearsons'.
Every time I talk about the festivalI can hear Simon & Garfunkel as background music. Yes, you know..Are you going to... very appropriate!

the day of the eclipse

It was all so very strange. Not a total eclipse, but the temperature went down 4 degrees , the shadows changed and became somewhat fuzzy and the quality of light was like that in a winter evening. It was like being in a Magritte painting.
No wonder the ancients thought it was the end of the world.
We are more savy, more sophisticated now and yet everyone was in awe.
Office workers were out on the street looking up, telescopes were set up so that passes by could take a look and school kids performed experiments and giggled nervously.

Next visible one will be in 24 years.

brunch

Great Sunday brunch, especially when you don't have to fix it. Now on with the crossword puzzle.
Carme came over yesterday. We had a great time. Much needed female bonding on both sides.
We went to see a good exhibit of symbolist paintings and then had a bottle of sparkling wine and some fine prosciutto.
Ahh, the simple joys of life
